The festival of Holi was celebrated in a grand manner at Mintokgang today
Gangtok, March 13: The festival
of Holi which commemorates the victory of good over evil was celebrated in
a grand manner at Mintokgang today. Two groups called upon the Hon’ble Chief
Minister and wished him on the auspicious occasion of Holi.
The Chief Minister thanked everyone for their presence and
wished for happiness and abundance in the lives of all. He
said that we must promote the spirit of oneness, social harmony and brotherhood
amongst the people of Sikkim.
The first group was the Marwari Community which was led by Mayor
of GMC Mr. Shakti Singh Choudhary and Mr. Hari Prasad. He on behalf of his
community put tika, khadas and thanked the Chief Minister for his unrelenting support
to his community.
He expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for providing
new direction and fresh insight into the development dynamic which
had resulted in flourishing of business and trade. Furthermore, he said that
they were very lucky to be in a state like Sikkim which had peace, prosperity
and a leader like him.
Members of Sikkim Aam Bihari Kalyan Manch along with the
Councillor Mr. Pinku Kumar and President Mr. Chotey Lall Prasad also called
upon the Chief Minister and wished him Holi with shawls and khadas. They also
expressed their gratitude for all the support which had always been in the
collective interest of the State in the best way possible.
