ONE YAER SIKKIM PADHYATRA SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED WEST DISTRICT AND ENTERED SOUTH

Gangtok, 21 July: The ONE YEAR SIKKIM PADHYATRA which was started from Yuksum (the first capital) of Sikkim on 16th May, 2016 has successfully completed West District on 20th July, 2016 (Wednesday). The padhyatra was started from Yuksom and in 66 days in west district we have  covered the areas or places of west Sikkim like Yuksom, Tashiding, Gerethang, Khichuberi Lake, Rimbi, Darap, Pelling, Rabdenthse (the second capital) of Sikkim, Gaysing, Dentam, Uttaray, Hee gaon, Hee Bermick, Kaluk, Rinchenpong, Shreebadam, Soreng, Sombaria, Okhtray, Ribdi, Barang, Lunchuk, Daramdin, Tharpu, Mangshari, Budang, Pakkigaon, Malbasay and via Soreng we have covered the places like Chakung, Chumbong, Gelling, Mangalbaray, Reshi, Sikip, Pipalay and on 20th July, 2016 we reached Naya bazar,west Sikkim. During this 66 dasy of padhyatra we have also came across many villages and some of them are Mangsabong, Ting-Ting, Laythang, Chojo, Falak, Nambo, Kyongsha, Lowar Sardang, Limchok, Lamzik, Sabok, Bamthang, Som, Mabo, Bega, Singshore bridge, Upper Mukrung, Agri Naya Busty, Barbotay Dara, Simphok, Sangku,Sangadorjee, Phunchebong, Singling, Rumbuk, Siktam, Tikpur, Anden, Church gaon, Ambetar, 8th mile, Sallaygaon, Rothak, Suntalay, Khanigaon, Lower Sigang, upper Sigang, Angku, Baiguney etc. '

During these 66 days in West District we have learned many things related to social, economic, historical, cultural, geo-political, political aspects of Sikkimese society and also interacted with many people. Whatever we have learned so far we will place before the society after completing other three districts. 

We have spent 66 days in West District without any kind of inconveniences for these we would like to give our sincere thanks to the District administration of west district, SP and DC and to all the concerned police stations, outposts, picket post for their corporations and necessary support. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the people of west Sikkim who have provided us food and accommodation, love and support to us.

We have completed West District on 20th July, 2016 so far we have covered the areas of 615 kilometers. We have entered South District on 20th July, 2016 and on 21st July, 2016 (Thursday) we have informed DC and SP, South about our south district padhyatra.  

The yatra shall be continued till 16th May, 2017.
