Chief Minister Mr. Pawan Chamling inaugurated the newly built Gram Prashasan Kendra today at Amba

Gangtok : The Chief Minister Mr. Pawan Chamling inaugurated the newly built Gram Prashasan Kendra today at Amba Gram Panchayat Unit, East Sikkim. The Gram Prashasan Kendra which is built at an estimated cost of Rs29,99,481 has an area of 1,220 square feet. 

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister for Rural Management and Development Department (RMDD)  Mr. S.B Subedi, Zilla Adhayaksha East, Mr. Bimal Kumar Dawadi,, Secretary, RMDD, Mr. D.R Nepal among others.

After that the Chief Minister Mr. Chamling also inaugurated newly built school build of government secondary school , Amba, East Sikkim. The newly constructed school building which is a two storied structure  is built at an estimated cost of Rs. 48,95,278..

After the inauguration the Chief Minister Mr. Pawan Chamling while addressing the gathering  announced that the road condition of the area which needed immediate carpeting and black topping has been ordered to finish with next six months.

Speaking on the demands placed by the Area MLA, Mr. Hamendra Adhakari like upgrading PHSC of the area to PHC and having an police out post in Amba, the Chief Minister gave a positive response to these demands and said that the area will have police out post and the PHSC of the area will be upgraded to PHC.

In his address the Chief Minister also highlighted the various developmental works done by the government and also  informed the gathering about  Kanchanjunga National Park chosen as world heritage site by UNESCO yesterday in Istanbul, Turkey and termed it as an huge achievement for the state of Sikkim, while adding that with the deceleration it has catapulted Sikkim into the world arena.

He also appealed to the people especially the students and the younger generation to channelize their mind into constructive and productive works and always keep a positive attitude towards life.

Education is the biggest and the most potent instrument one can ever have therefore students should use all the facilities provided by the government and utilize it to the optimum and try and be good, skilled potent human resource for the state of Sikkim as well as the country, Mr. Chamling stressed.

He also asked the people from the area to take advantage of Tourism boom which the state of has seen in the past few years and get involved in village tourism, Home stay etc  while adding that the world belongs to the produces and not consumers and asked the people to be productive and concentrate on organic farming which he added has a great future in Sikkim.

On the occasion the people from the area also felicitated the Chief Minister and presented him with a citation and memento. The inauguration function was attended by host of Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries and other dignitaries.
