North District Administration distributed 1,80,000 saplings of Large cardamom to the farmers of Dzongu and Mangan Sub-Division

Zilla Adhakshya North, Anguli Lepcha was present as chief guest. She was accompanied by District Collector, Karma R. Bonpo, BDO of Dzongu and Mangan.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest, Anguli Lepcha said that the main goal of the distribution was to revive the large cardamon production in the North District which have dwindled in the last couple of years.

DC urged for the rejuvenation of cardamom production in the North district. He also encouraged the local farmers to avail various departmental schemes and loans.
“We must work hard in order to revive and increase the cardamom production that will in turn generate income and will help to improve the standard of living of the farmers and locals at large. Besides that District Administration will also support for dairy farming said DC.
Chief Engineer of Teesta -IV NHPC, Ramesh Mukhiya informed that NHPC is working for rural development through various schemes in the district.
As part of CSR, north district administration asked all power developers to provide saplings of large cardamom to various GPUs of north district.
During the programme, Soil Health Card also distributed by Agriculture department to Ongchou Lepcha, Kenzang Lepcha and Bhaichung Lepcha.
