‘One Year Sikkim Padhyatra’ has successfully completed one month
Gangtok: The ONE YEAR SIKKIM PADHYATRA which was started from Yuksum (the first capital) of Sikkim after taking blessings from the Dubdi (the first monastery) of Sikkim on 16th May, 2016 has successfully completed one month on 15th June, 2016 (Wednesday). The padhyatra was started from Yuksom and so far we have covered the areas or places of west Sikkim like Yuksom, Tashiding, Gerethang, Khichuberi Lake, Rimbi, Darap, Pelling, Rabdenthse (the second capital) of Sikkim, Gaysing, Dentam, Uttaray, Hee gaon, Hee Bermick, Kaluk, Rinchenpong, Shreebadam, Soreng, Sombaria, Okhtray, Ribdi, Brang and on 15TH June, 2016 we reached Hilly.
During this one month yatra we have also came across many villages and some of them areMangsabong, Ting-Ting, Laythang, Chojo, Falak, Nambo, Kyongsha, Lowar Sardang, Limchok, Lamzik, Sabok, Bamthang, Som, Mabo, Bega, Singshore bridge, Upper Mukrung, Agri Naya Busty, Barbotay Dara, Simphok, Sangku,Sangadorjee, Phunchebong, Singling, Rumbuk, Siktam, Tikpur, Chambga gaon etc. During this one month we have learned many things and also interacted with people on the way. The people are happy and king enough to provide food and accommodation. They were very keen to know the purpose of ONE YEAR SIKKIM PADYATRA and after listening the purpose they are very happy and excited and given us best wishes to complete one year successfully.
We have informed DC and SP (W) before starting yatra and they are cooperating with us and we would like to give thanks to District Administration and all the concerned police stations. We have started yatra for one and shall be continued till 16th May, 2017.
Since the main purpose of ONE YAER SIKKIM PADHYATRA is to study and understand social, geo-political, economic, cultural and historical aspects of our state and this padhyatra has state and particularly the national importance. Therefore, we have also informed to PMO, President Secretariat and the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India about this ONE YEAR SIKKIM PADHYATRA.
