Health Minister Mr. A. K. Ghatani Visited Singtam District Hospital

Singtam: Minister for Health Care, Human Service and Family Welfare Department Mr. A. K. Ghatani paid surprise visit to District Hospital Singtam on 25th June.  Mr. Ghatani minutely visited different sections including Trauma and Emergency ward, Maternity unit, Pediatric ward, General Male and Female ward, Geriatric ward, Medical store etc. and interacted with the patients admitted in the hospital.

Mr. Ghatani interacted with the staff and took stock on  health services being facilitated to the patients. He also applauded the transformation of architectural work accomplished by district hospital Singtam under Kayakalpa programme. 

During the visit Minister instructed officials and staff on promptly delivering assigned responsibilities in providing quality health services and stressed on maintaining stock of medicines. 

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tshering Laden explained about the functions and activities being conducted under respective wards.

Mr. Ghatani also suggested CMO to immediately cut down the tress those are posing threat to the hospital.

CMO also appraised minister about the need of dedicated power line with a transformer and manpower including one anesthetist and nursing staff.

Later, minister carried out field inspection of  infrastructure of Health Department at Chuataar, East Sikkim. It may be mentioned here that a food testing center and a drug testing center are functional while II class doctors quarter (six unit) and  de-addiction center are under completion period.  Additional Chief Engineer Mr. L.D. Lamtha also informed that the work pertaining to construction of ANM training school and Hostel at chuataar has been started. Minister directed the concerned officials to expedite the construction process and to ensure proper maintenance of completed infrastructure.
