Union Minister Mr. Parshottam Rupala inaugurated the Gram Swaraj Hall at 28 Maniram- Phalidara
Namchi, 28th December: Minister of State Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Panchayati Raj Mr. Parshottam Rupala inaugurated the Gram Swaraj Hall at 28 Maniram- Phalidara, South Sikkim today. The program organized by 28 Maniram- Phalidara Gram Panchayat also had the attendance of state RM&DD Minister Mr. S. B. Subedi, Secretary RM&DD Mr. D. R. Nepal, ADC (Dev) Ms. Benu Gurung, Officials, Panchayats and the general public.
It maybe mentioned here that the Gram Swaraj Hall has been constructed under Rajiv Gandhi Sewa Kendra (MGNREGA) in convergence with the panchayat OSR.
Addressing, the gathering the Union Minister Mr. Parshottam Rupala termed 28 Maniram- Phalidara as one of the most developed, upgraded and impressive Gram Panchayat in the state. The minister also applauded Maniram- Phalidara Gram Panchayat in the effective utilization and implementation of the various pro people developmental initiatives, which the panchayats has successfully undertaken for the overall benefit of the public. He also lauded the State Government, in efficiently executing the various schemes designed by the central government mainly aimed for the assistance of the panchayat system in the state. The minister also informed that it the vision of the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to fortify and positively build the Panchayats to be self reliant and further advocated the Gram Panchayats of the state to focus on being self reliant. Regarding, the demands placed by the RM& D department the Minister assured that the demands will be looked into. Additionally, the minister also encouraged 28 Maniram- Phalidara Gram Panchayat to create awareness along with vigorously promoting digital banking for cashless transaction amongst the local public.
Speaking, during the occasion State RM&DD Minister Mr. S.B. Subedi briefed about the various initiatives undertaken by the State Government in order for strengthening of the Panchayat System in the state. Mr. Subedi also presented a list of demands required for the benefit of the panchayats of the state. He also highlighted the role of the panchayats, the line departments and the community people of the GPU in order to transform the GPU into a model GPU.
Secretary RM&DD Mr. D.R Nepal also addressed the program where he called upon the panchayats and the local public to work in tandem in order to develop the GPU as a model GPU. He updated the attendees that it a commendable achievement, that 28 Maniram- Phalidara Gram Panchayat has acquired today in having the gracious presence of the Union Minister Mr. Parshottam Rupala and advocated the panchayats to work positively for the expansion of the Gram Panchayat.
During the course of the program Panchayat President Mr. Topda Bhutia gave a detailed ppt presentation on the activities of Maniram Phalidara. The Minister of State Mr. Parshottam Rupala also felicitated Sang Dolma Tamang and Deepti Sherpa who were named the best students along with senior citizen Mr. Padam Badhur Rai. The Minister along with dignitaries also released the annual action plan calendar of Maniram Phalidara.
