Yougan Tamang selected for Global Youth & Sangai Young Changemaker Award 2016

Gangtok, 7 July: Yougan Tamang a UGC Senior Research Scholar from Jorethang, South Sikkim is selected for Global Youth Award 2016 & Sangai Young Changemaker Award 2016 by International Youth Committee based at Shillong, Meghalaya. Award will be presented during World Youth Conference 2016 "Youth for Sustainable Development" which is being held from 12th - 14th November 2016 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.  Award carries Golden Trophy with Memento, a certificate and shawl.

Awards is given on the basis of Quality of impact Level of innovation/fresh approaches to problem-solving, Quality of achievement, Quality of the evidence provided Sustainability: building capacity of future generations to meet their own needs.

Delegates from 170 countries along with top United Nations officials will be present in this award function.

Yougan Tamang is already a Sikkim State Awardee and a Founder/Creative Head of iVolunteerYou NGO. He had already attended a Conference and Presented a Paper on ‘Religion and Its Impact on Health of Tamangs of Sikkim, India at International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES) World Congress 2013 at Manchester, United Kingdom in the year 2013. And also attended the ‘Youth for Peace Training Workshop’ held at Bangkok, Thailand  organized by the International Institute of Peace and Development Studies, Bangkok, Thailand Co-hosted by Asian Resource Foundation and Asian Muslim Action Network, Bangkok Thailand from 11th September 2014 to 15th September 2014.

In the year 2015 Rakibul Hasan a columnist, author from Bangladesh had received this Global Youth Award.
