Residential Training on Youth Leadership by Nehru Yuva Kendra Gangtok concludes.

Gangtok,16 December: A five days long Residential Training on Youth Leadership & community Development Programme cum Heartfulness Meditation conducted by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Gangtok  concluded at Shri  Ram Chandra Mission Ashram, ICAR Complex,Tadong yesterday. A total of 33 Youth including 3 National Youth Volunteers  underwent the training. The Programme was formally inaugurated by ShrIR.Telang,Principal Secretary, Social & Family welfare, Govt. of Sikkim on the 11th December last. Shri Nabin Kumar Naik, State Director, NYKS, Sikkim was also present on the occasion.

The training covered  various topics such as Leadership, Personality Development, Community Mobilization, Culture &Tradition, Motivation and motivational techniques, Centre’s Flagship programmes, Cashless transaction, Communication and use of IT  Social media etc, Life skills, Good citizenship, Schemes under , DIC,KVIC, MSME, Flagship programmes of Govt. of Sikkim, Personal management and others. The Heartfulness meditation was conducted twice a day in the morning and in the evening. Besides, shramdaan and  all religion prayers in the morning and group discussions, talent shows culture programme and video shows in the evening were the highlights of the training. Subject experts from concerned departments were invited to take up the topics besides the State Director & District Youth Coordinator. Shri K.P.Dahal, Chairman Youth Development Board, visited and addressed the participants  yesterday morning.

The closing function of the said programme was held on the same venue. Shri PintsoChopel, MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary, UD & HD was the Chief Guest. Shri Nabin Kumar Naik, State Director and Shri Gulia, Manager of the Ashram were also present on the occasion. The  District Youth Coordinator Shri Puran Chhetri  highlighted the background, objectives and activities of the NYKS and briefed about the training and meditation programme.  The State Director told about NYKS role in moulding the youth and asked the trainees to use whatever they learned  in their day to day life. He also told that NYKS would provide all sorts of guidance in times of need. Shri Gulia told about Shri Ram Chandra Mission . The participants, while sharing their experiences expressed their happiness that they could be the part of the said training and learnt some thing new which they had not learnt before. The heartfulness meditation was very beneficial to them which was first of its kind in their life.

The Chief Guest Shri PintsoChopel ,speaking on the occasion, thanked  and congratulated NYK for conducting such a programme for the youth. He told the youths present to be realistic and face the hardships to achieve their goal. Shri Chopel urged the youths to take up  the responsibility of fighting against the menace of drugs and anti social elements. The entire programme was arranged by the trainees themselves.
