MP P D Rai calls on Union Minister Parshottam Rupala

Gangtok: 27 December: Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha called on the Union Minister of State, Shri Parshottam Rupala today It was a short duration courtesy call, welcoming him to Sikkim. Shri Rai along with Shri Somnath Poudyal, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture discussed the aspects of Organic farming in Sikkim. Shri Rai briefed both the ministers on the Dalle Chilly farming and it’s potential in West Sikkim. 

He had recently visited NESA village near Gyangap, where he had met the local Panchayat, Smt Shanti Subba and the progressive farmers led by Shri GirmanDahal.


He also said that there was a need to beef up the marketing and processing activity of the Dalle Chilly as the production of chilly spice would double in the coming year as per farmer ground reports. The Hon’ble Ministers took note of the same.
